November 24, 2009: DEADLINE – Qualifications to Buy SRECs at Auction Due December 17, 2009
New Jersey requires that a portion of the electricity delivered to its customers be supplied from solar electric generation systems. Suppliers to New Jersey customers must comply with these requirements by submitting Solar Renewable Energy Certificates (“SRECs”). NERA Economic Consulting (“NERA”) is managing quarterly auctions that provide to these suppliers and traders an opportunity to purchase SRECs.
To buy Solar Renewable Energy Credits (“SRECs”) in the auction starting on January 29, 2010, an interested party must qualify by submitting two (2) original completed copies of the Qualification Form with original signatures by 12 PM (noon) Eastern Prevailing Time on December 17, 2009. The Qualification Form can be downloaded from the Documents section of the auction web site, www.solarREC-auction.com.
